With the arrival of October, Halloween is on the horizon bringing with it a host of events to dive into.

And visiting a pumpkin patch may be on your bucket list.

So here are some places in Essex you can visit to pick some of the bright orange vegetables and get in spooky spirits.

Foxes Farm Produce - Aldham and Basildon

Foxes Farm Produce is inviting visitors to its farms where they'll be able to browse for the perfect vegetable to create their own Jack-o'-lantern.

The patches are open this weekend, next weekend and then every day from October 18 until 31.

Last year, Denise Van Outen and Stacey Solomon even paid a visit to the patch.

Hasty's Adventure Farm, Clacton

The farm in West Road is hosting a series of Halloween events from October 22 to 31.

It will be creating fun activities for all ages to enjoy during the nine days of entertainment Hasty’s are limiting the number of people per hour to make it a safe place to play.

Hatter’s Farm, Takeley

This year, the farm has grown thousands of pumpkins and squash at its patch for visitors to come and choose from.

With more than 25 varieties, whether you like knobbly ones, giant ones, tiny ones or colourful ones, the farm has it all.

A pumpkin cannon and maize maze will also be on offer.

The farm will be open this weekend, next weekend and then from October 23 – 31, 10am – 4pm.

Hurley's Pumpkin Forest, Wickford

There is pumpkin picking as well as squashes to purchase.

Tickets must be pre-booked with dates available until October 31.
