A search was launched after a person was spotted with a "firearm" in Stanford-le-Hope.
Essex Police were called shortly after 6pm on Friday (September 24) to reports of someone seen with what was described as a firearm in Scratton Road.
Officers went to the area and carried out a search, but unfortunately could not locate the person.
Residents reported hearing a helicopter circle above their homes for some time, while the search was carried out.

"Please quote incident 1124 of September 24.
