THURROCK’S newly-elected mayor paid a visit to Ortu Hassenbrook Academy and Ortu Gable Hall to see how the students are settling in after half-term.
Mayor Sue Shinnick was first taken on an extensive tour of Ortu Gable Hall School by Ceri Evans, headteacher, where she was able to see some of the students at work.
Later that morning, the mayor was shown around Ortu Hassenbrook Academy to see the upgrades in infrastructure and environment there.
The mayor was very pleased to see the upgrades at the school, including the insulation of electrical work and new science laboratories.
