EXCITED pupils at Ortu Corringham Pre-School got a visit from the deputy mayor.

Councillor James Halden went to see the school’s new £1million building last Thursday - which has allowed the school to double its intake.

Mr Halden was one of the key driving forces for commissioning the work and supporting the school.

Headteacher Lee Porter said: “We feel so honoured councillor Halden chose us to visit first following his inauguration into office as life returns to normal post-lockdown. Knowing that he understands and supports the mission we as a school are on to ensure pupils can be the best that they can be is empowering.”
