SOUTHEND United manager Phil Brown would be more than willing to holds talks with Simon Cox.
The striker is heading home to be with his family after leaving Australian side Western Sydney Wanderers.
And Brown, who signed Cox during his first spell as Shrimpers boss, would be keen to hold talks with the 34-year-old.
“If he gets in touch I’ll certainly have a conversation with him,” said Brown.
“Coxy’s skills, ability and cleverness, is it something you need in the National League? I don’t know.
“If he’s interested I’d certainly talk to him but whether we could afford him is a different question.”
Cox joined Blues in 2016 and scored 45 goals in 170 games.
