SOUTHEND United manager Phil Brown is planning talks with former Shrimpers midfielder Michael Timlin.
Timlin, who played for Brown during his first spell with Blues, has been at Roots Hall for the past two home games.
And Brown will soon be holding discussions with the 36-year-old.
“Michael lives in the area and he’s someone I respect immensely,” said Brown.
“That feeling is mutual and where Tims is concerned I’m sure he would dearly love to come back to the club.
“I will have vacancies in my backroom team but I’m hoping I will have a whole host of people wanting to fill them so we’ll see.
“I’d never write off Michael coming back but at the same time it has to be right .”
Timlin made 262 appearances for Blues before leaving in 2018 and has lined up for Stevenage, Ebbsfleet and Dulwich Hamlet since his departure.
