A “DESPICABLE” thug punched a woman in the face and smashed an urn containing her dead dog’s ashes.

Bradley Parker has been locked up after viciously abusing his partner at her home.

The 41-year-old had been in a relationship with the woman since 2018, but things began to sour in 2019 and resulted in him abusing her and her property in August and December that year.

On August 31, in South Ockendon, they had a fight in the living room and she went upstairs to get away from him.

Parker then followed with the woman’s deceased dog’s ashes in an urn, which meant a lot to her, and smashed it against a wall.

Things came to a head when Parker attacked the woman on December 1 that year, after he became frustrated when he couldn’t find a wrap of cocaine.

He took his anger out on a washing machine, and the woman again went upstairs to get away from him, but he followed her and forced her onto the bed.

At Parker’s sentencing at Basildon Crown Court, Recorder Charlie Sherrard QC said: “What followed was an utterly despicable and powerful punch to her nose.

“Instead of tending to her you pulled her off by her head. She must have been utterly terrified.

“You brandished a samurai sword from under the bed, waving it around and saying you would make her drink bleach.”

Parker, of Cornmill House, Romford, admitted causing actual bodily harm, criminal damage and destroying property.

The court heard that he realised his behaviour was “unacceptable”.

Recorder Sherrard jailed him for two years and four months.
