HUNDREDS of cans of food were donated in a matter of hours to help homeless people.

Bosses of Rotary Club of East Thurrock say the support in the community means so much to all those vulnerable people receiving help.

A Rotary club spokesman said: “We want to say a huge thank you to to everyone who supported our Give a Can appeal for the homeless.

“You provided over 800 cans of food in just six hours.

“Your support will continue for weeks with the help of the Salvation Army.”

Club members held social-distanced and Covid-safe collections at Morrisons in Corringham.

But the club says this is just the start and even more donations and help is vital in the work to support the vulnerable people in the borough.
