A NUMBER of reportedly stolen catalytic converters were seized from the boot of a car.
Police seized the converters from the back of a vehicle after a joint operation tracked the vehicle entering Thurrock on the A13.
The driver was arrested.
Officers from across the road policing unit, the operation support group, and a dog handler, with teams from the Met Police, were all involved in locating and stopping the car.
A spokesman from Essex Police, said: “We know how much catalytic converter thefts effect people, with the cost and inconvenience caused by these thieves having real impact on our communities.
“When a suspect vehicle identified as being linked to these thefts previously was seen earlier on the A13 in the Thurrock, area officers from the road policing unit and operational support group, together with a dog handler combined as a team, guided by the control room, who were also liaising with our Met Police colleagues as the car was crossing the border into their area to locate and stop it.
“Numerous recently stolen catalytic converters were found in the boot.
“The investigation continues.”
