COMMUNITY club members enjoyed meeting in person for the first time since the coronavirus lockdown.

The Rotary Club of Grays Thurrock enjoyed a meal to celebrate years of service and a special birthday.

A spokesman said: “After 18 weeks of Zoom meetings since lockdown, 19 members of the club resumed normal lunchtime meetings at Orsett Hall.

“President Elaine Stevens welcomed all attendees back and with the Club celebrating 90 years service to the community in October, it was lovely to toast Rotarian Merlyn Jones’s 92nd birthday over lunch.”

Elaine Stevens and Merlyn Jones said they had a lovely time.
