A CARE home is thanking those who went the extra mile to support residents during the pandemic.

Colne View care home, on Dame Mary Walk in Halstead, has expressed its gratitude for the generosity shown by the people of Halstead over the past couple of months.

The care home has even released a video which shows staff and residents saying thank you on camera.

During lockdown, Colne View has been inundated with support, with residents receiving letters from youngsters and handmade hearts from potter Shaun Hall.

In addition to sweet treats dropped off by locals as a token of thanks, team members also received custom-made headbands and laundry bags from Stitching in the Village and Braintree District Together.

Team members at Colne View have also been praised for their unwavering dedication and relentless efforts over the past few months, going out of their way to bake for a resident’s birthday and keeping morale up through creative activities and even by organising a ‘beach’ party.

Colne View manager Razvan Stanbeca said: “We are incredibly grateful to everyone who has supported us over the past couple of months, whether that be through volunteering, sending tokens of appreciation or writing letters to team members and residents.

“Every single thought, message and gesture has helped to raise the spirits of our fantastic team and has brightened the days of residents missing their families.

“It really has kept everyone going.

“On behalf of everyone at Colne View, thank you so much.”
