A man was arrested after police were called to concerns for a person’s welfare, after a large number of emergency services were spotted in a street.

Ten police cars, other unmarked police cars, three fire engines and several ambulances and paramedic vehicles have gathered on the junction of Brentwood Road and Heath Road, in Chadwell St Mary.

Essex Police has now revealed a man was arrested following an incident.

A force spokesman said: “A man has been arrested following an incident in Chadwell St Mary today Friday 26 June.

“We had been called to an address in Sleeper Farm Road at around 8.45am following concerns for welfare for a man.

“Officers attended and at 2.20pm and a man was safely detained without injury.

“He remains in custody.
