A SCHOOL has produced a music video to celebrate its talented students.
East Bergholt High School, in Heath Road, has created its own project called Record at Home which brought staff and students together online to perform their own take on the Beatles’ number one classic hit, Hey Jude.
The project was the idea of Matt Austen, who is the head of music at the school.
Unable to perform their final GCSE pieces this year, Mr Austen initially set the project up to give the school’s skilled Year 11 musicians a chance to shine and give a final performance to their classmates.
However, word got out and it quickly grew into a whole school endeavour.
He said: “Students from all years would miss out on music lessons, concert and exam performances, so I thought this would be a great idea to fill a musical void.
“The response was brilliant from staff and students and it was wonderful to see the hidden talent exhibited by everyone at the school.
“The project was great fun to be part of and has been a fantastic way for the East Bergholt High School community to come together at such a difficult time.”
