AN "unexploded bomb" in Shoebury turned out to be just an old clock part.
Officers from Southend's Local Policing Team responded to reports that someone had found an unexploded bomb whilst doing some groundwork in Shoebury yesterday.
The officers inspected the item in question and then liaised with Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) from the government.
Following enquiries, the item was found to be an old clock weight, and did not pose any safety risks to residents.
The part has been removed from the Shoebury coastline.
