In this week’s Down Memory Lane we take a look at another well remembered Grays business, that of Frank West.

The highly respected Men’s and Boy’s outfitters was originally based in New Road, but later moved to new premises in the High St South of the Railway Crossing next to St Peters and Pauls Church.

The photo from the Thurrock Library Local History Collection shows the shop in the High Street about 1925.

Frank West’s was also the official supplier of uniforms to the Scout movement in Thurrock, the department was in the basement of the building.
