THE A127 in Southend will have its speed limit cut to 30mph for up to 18 months as work gets under way on a £5m improvment plan for The Bell junction.

Southend Council has published a notice outlining its intention to reduce the 40mph speed limit to 30mph on the A127 in both directions in Prince Avenue.

The new limit will start at Tesco up to the Cuckoo Corner/Manners Way/Victoria Avenue junction.

The reduced speed limit will be in place for up to 18 months as part of the Bell junction improvement scheme.

It is due to take effect from April 20, 2020.
