A Grays litter-pick group has teamed up with Thurrock Council to kickstart the borough’s involvement in the Great British Spring Clean.
Grays Beachcombers volunteers held their monthly community litter-pick event to collect discarded waste, plastic bottles and aluminium drink cans on Grays Beach.
Steve Catchpole, lead organiser of the Grays Beachcombers and volunteer river action clean-up facilitator for the Thames21 project, said: “We were pleased to team up with Thurrock Council again for this latest litter pick.
“We were joined by 28 volunteers who filled 50 sacks, including 247 bottles.”
