GARDEN waste collections have been suspended, and residents forced to stay at home aren’t happy.
Green or grey bins and blue bins will be collected. Brown bins will not. Food waste and a small amount of garden waste can be disposed of in the green or grey bin.
The Linford Household Waste and Recycling Centre is closed now too.
Residents said this is total madness.
One father posted: “So the collections for food and garden waste that rots and smells are being stopped while people are expected to stay at home and want to do their garden, whose bright idea was that?”
The council declined to comment on the criticisms.
The council websites states: "Thank you for your co-operation during this time. Full details can be found online at the council’shousehold waste and recycling page
"Changes to all other council services can be found at thurrock.gov.uk/coronavirus"
