TWO more deaths at Colchester Hospital as a result of coronavirus have been confirmed.
Figures released yesterday from NHS England showed two people have died at the East Suffolk and North Essex Hospital trust.
Trust chief executive Nick Hulme confirmed the two people had died at Colchester Hospital.
It brings the number of deaths as a result of Covid-19 at the hospital to 11.
Mr Hulme said: “We can confirm that sadly, two patients, one in their 90’s, and one in their 70’s both of whom had underlying health conditions, have passed away at Colchester Hospital.
"They had tested positive for COVID-19.
“Our thoughts and condolences remain with the patients family and loved ones at this difficult time.”
Essex coronavirus cases have risen to 526.
The latest figures show there are 420 cases in the Essex County Council area, a further 44 positive cases in Southend and 62 in Thurrock.
This means the total amount of cases in all of Essex stands at 526, a 53 case rise from 473 cases the day before.
