AN unnamed Southend Manor star is self-isolating after showing symptoms of coronavirus.

Manor were due to go head-to-head with Hashtag United in an Essex Senior League clash on Saturday.

But the encounter, which was scheduled to take place at Manor's Southchurch Park home, was postponed due to one of the hosts’ players going into self-isolation.

Manor tweeted: “We’ve been informed that our Essex Senior League game with Hashtag United has been postponed due to one of our players having to go into self-isolation.

“We’ll announce the new date of the fixture when we have it.

“We do wish the very best recovery to our player who has gone into self-isolation and we hope you all are keeping safe during these troubling times.”

The announcement came an hour before the Essex Senior League confirmed all of the Premier Division's scheduled fixtures would not go ahead at the weekend.

An Essex Senior League statement read: "The entire Premier Division has been postponed as a precautionary measure following additional reports of potential coronavirus symptoms.

"This has resulted in midweek postponements for affected clubs."
