A school will now build temporary classrooms after the council back its plans.
Somers Heath Primary School, Foyle Drive, South Ockendon has been given the green light for the temporary 2 storey building to provide 4 classrooms and associated facilities required until October 2021.
The council report says the plans are considered acceptable in terms of appearance siting and impact on neighbouring residents.
It states: “The proposed temporary building is of a two-storey height with standardised design that includes panelled elevations and standardised windows to all four elevations.
"The building would be covered by flat roofing with access to the building gained by a ramp. The layout of the building includes two classrooms of 64 sq.m each along with storerooms and toilets on the ground floor.
"The first floor also includes two classrooms of 64 sq.m each along with similar storage rooms to that of the ground floor.”
