THIEVES have targeted a family twice in a week getting away with their tools - and chicken burgers.

Having had thieves raid their fridge last week, Dan Bell was shocked to find the family was targeted for a second time, with more than £1,000 worth of items taken from both his work and personal van parked in Biscay, Eastwood.

The 42-year-old said: “It was only last week that someone broke into our shed and stole food from our fridge. They took hash browns, waffles and chicken burgers.

“Luckily we caught them on CCTV and police are sorting. If they’d have just knocked on the door and asked, I would have happily given it to them.

“Now this has happened. The night before I got in from work, locked both vans and went inside as normal. The next morning I came outside and found both vans open.

“We’re not too sure how they got in my work van, but by the looks of things they forced the door open to gain entry into my personal van. There are scratches on its panel.

“It was definitely a shock when I realised about £1,000 worth of my tools and fishing gear had gone and power tools were gone from my work one, we’re not sure of their total value.”

The incident follows a spate of vehicle thefts in the Eastwood area, spurring residents to call for volunteer patrols.

Dan continued: “It could’ve been any time between 10pm Monday to 6am the following morning. We have cameras up but somehow they managed to dodge them all.

“We want to make as many aware as possible, please contact police if you can help.”
