SOUTHEND United manager Sol Campbell has thrown doubt on the signings of Theo Vassell and Emmanuel Osadebe.
Blues chairman Ron Martin revealed in a club statement on Friday that the club had now agreed terms with Campbell's two targets.
But when asked if the former Macclesfield Town duo were close to joining a stern-looking Campbell replied: “You know the answer."
Centre back Vassell, 23, has also lined up for Port Vale during his career which has seen him make 97 League appearances.
Osadebe, who is also 23, is an attacking midfielder who has previously played for Gillingham and Cambridge United as well as Macclesfield.
The duo have both been training with the Shrimpers for the past week.
