A WOMAN has been left "very upset" after she forgot to take £250 she had withdrawn from an ATM and returned to discover the cash had been taken.

The victim, aged in her 40s, used the cashpoint outside Tesco on Poole Road in Branksome at around 11am on Friday, January 10.

She withdrew cash from the machine but became distracted and forgot to take her money. When she went back to the machine, the money had been taken.

It has been reported to police that during this time a man with a small child went to the machine and removed the money. He then went into Tesco, walked around for a short time and then left without buying anything or attempting to hand the money in.

Officers investigating the theft by finding incident have issued an image of a man they would like to speak to.

Police Community Support Investigator James Somerville, of Poole police, said: “The victim has been left very upset by this incident due to the amount of money involved.

“I am keen to speak to the man pictured to get his account and would urge anyone with information as to his identity to please contact me. I would also urge the man involved to do the right thing and come forward.”
