A lunch club almost half a century old will continue to provide a place for elderly people to meet.

Bushey Luncheon Club have been meeting at Sacred Heart Church in Bushey, with the club forming 49 years ago.

The lunch club made the tough decision to close as they were unable to recruit new volunteers.

The church were more than happy to keep the club going, but five volunteers were needed.

Bushey House Beaumont heard about the club's need for a new home from Friends of Bushey Seniors and were able to help.

The care home has opened up their facilities to host members who have a chance to catch up and enjoy a three-course meal cooked by the chefs from the home.
