Officers from Cheshire Police have launched an investigation following a fatal collision in Runcorn.
Shortly after 10am on Wednesday January 22 police were called to reports of a collision on the Daresbury Expressway.
The incident, which involved a grey Citroen Xsara Picasso, a grey Peugeot 3008 and a HGV, occurred near to the Science Park.
Sadly, the driver of the Citroen was pronounced dead at the scene.
Formal identification of the man has not yet taken place. However, he is believed to be a 39-year-old man from the Widnes area. His next of kin have been informed.
There were no reports of any other injuries.
Enquiries are ongoing and officers are keen to hear from anyone who witnessed the collision or anyone with any dashcam footage which may aid their investigation.

Daresbury Expressway remains closed at this time while recovery work takes place at the scene and motorists are advised to avoid the area.
