An education council boss has announced his heartbreak at feeling forced to resign over differences with the council leader.

Tory Homesteads councillor, James Halden made the statement on his social media campaign yersterday afternoon.

Mr Halden revealed he was asked to quit by the leader of Thurrock Council following a number of “irreconcilable differences”.

The education councillor, who became a councillor when he was a teenager, took the opportunity to remind everyone of his achievements and also gave note of the timetable for his departure.

Rob Gledhill, Tory council leader said: "This is an internal group matter and therefore something on which I will not make comment.”
