Here's our guide to some of the main things happening in the region this weekend:

1. Follow Kreativ Dance as they look back at some of their most memorable dances over the last 10 years.

Kreativ Dance promises a night of entertainment with musicals such as The Lion King, Shrek , The Wiz, Mamma Mia, Rocky Horror and Chicago being performed in the first half.

The show will be on Friday and Saturday night at 7.30pm at The Forum, Barrow.

2. Join The Brewery Arts Centre for an encore screening of The Winter’s Tale.

The screening will be on Saturday night at 7pm.

Watch as King Leontes’s sexual jealousy sets in motion a chain of events with tragic consequences.

Adult tickets cost £18.50, and under 16s tickets cost £15.50.

3. Head to the Newton Arms, Dalton, for a night with award-winning comedian and bestselling author Sam Avery, who will be giving a preview of his new stand-up tour.

How do you raise a toddler with more attitude than Kayne West? Find out on Friday at 8pm.

4. Shape the future of Barrow on Saturday at a drop in event.

The event will last from 11am until 3pm at the entrance to Barrow Market off Portland Walk.

You will get the chance to find out more about the outline plans for Barrow town centre and will be able to provide feedback on the direction you think will be most beneficial to the town.

If you would like to discuss events and initiatives with the Barrow BID manager, Colin Garnett will be available from 12.30pm until 2.30pm.

5. Back the Bluebirds as they host Bromley on Saturday in a huge Vanarama National League fixture.

Kick off will be at 5.20pm at the Progression Solicitors Stadium, Barrow.

Adult tickets cost £13, concessions £10, under 21s £5, under16s £3, and under 12s go free.

6. Support Schneider Road Community Hub, Barrow, during their January sale on Sunday.

The community hub will be selling kids and adult clothing, baby items, toys, games, books and DVD’s from 11am-2pm, all for just £1.

Refreshments will also be available, as well as a tombola and raffle.

7. Join Ballet Theatre UK at The Forum, Barrow, on Sunday at 2.30pm for a journey to Oz.

Enjoy the two act, full length ballet adaptation of the iconic tale of Dorothy, the Scarecrow, Tinman, Lion and Toto as they seek the Wonderful Wizard.

8. Go along to the Kendal Parish Hall on Saturday at 10am to enjoy the Kendal Record Fair.

Meet the sellers face to face and examine the condition of the records for yourself - no inaccurately described items or long waits for the post to arrive.

Haggle to get a bargain and enjoy the buzz that only meeting like-minded people can bring.

9. Head to Kendal Leisure Centre on Sunday at 11am to enjoy Junior Splash Time with floats.

This is a mixed-gender activity which lasts for 55 minutes and is suitable for participants of all levels aged eight and over.

10. Put on your running shoes and head for your nearest Parkrun event this Saturday at 9am.

Meet up at Barrow Parkrun, Fell Foot Parkrun, Millom Parkrun or Ulverston’s Ford Parkrun.

People of all ages and abilities are welcome to join in with the free 5k events.
