Children and their families celebrated the Feast of the Kings at their Epiphany service.

Children from the All Saints’ Church Fun Club, in Braintree, took part in an Epiphany service dedicated to the coming of the Wise Men.

The Epiphany is celebrated 12 days after Christmas on January 6 to remember the three Wise Men who visited the newborn Jesus in Bethlehem. The club meets at the church on the first Sunday of each month to listen to bible stories and take part in art and craft activities.

During the service the children listened to the story of the Wise Men, made their own stars, which they gave to members of the congregation, and then ended the service by following the star around the church until they came to the stable, where they placed figures of the Wise Men to complete the Nativity scene. Church member Kay Fraser said: “The family service is a fairly informal service and is usually led with great fun and enthusiasm by our newly ordained Curate Roman.

“He is accompanied by a live band of trumpets, saxophone, guitar and keyboard.”
