STUDENTS have been awarded for excellence in environmental action and learning.
Woodside Academy in Grays received the prestigious Green Flag, from Eco School, a global education programme about the planet.
The children have been learning about energy, litter, and marine topics and consider the school's environmental impact.
Principal Edward Caines said: “We have a number of awards but this has to be the most important one, coming at a time when we are facing a global climate crisis.
"The Green Flag Award is a testament to the commitment of children and staff to saving the planet."
