A WOMAN who had a seizure wants to thank the couple who came to her aid.

Marnie Dickson has regular “absence seizures” which cause her to blank out.

On Friday she took her motorised wheelchair around the block but does not remember anything after that.

Marnie, 24, who lives in the Braiswick estate in Colchester, said: “It was at the top of Engineer Square.

“A couple found me between 11.30pm and midnight. I was unconscious with no way of getting help or getting home.

“It was a man and a woman, a couple, I think. They were driving a silver car but that’s all I can remember.”

Marnie’s seizures come in clusters and she can go a couple of months at a time without having one.

She has been experiencing them for a couple of years but as they are not epileptic seizures there is no way of treating them with medication.

She said: “I don’t really remember anything. After the seizures I usually forget a big chunk of the day.

“The couple wanted to call an ambulance as they were really worried.

“I told them not to bother as there is nothing the hospital could do. I just asked if they could walk me back to the house just in case.”

She was able to thank the couple at the time of the incident but hopes to speak to them properly now she has recovered.

She said: “If the couple hadn’t found me, I dread to think what would have happened.

“With how cold it’s been, hypothermia would almost certainly have kicked in had I not been found.”
