THERE was a chance for people to get in the festive spirit at a charity Christmas fair on Sunday.

A Christmas fair was held at the Lion Quays in aid of Cancer Research UK.

Stalls selling a variety of festive goods packed out a room at the popular resort, with customers from across the region coming along and getting ready for the Christmas period.

Annie Kerr, volunteer for Cancer Research UK and organiser of the fair, said she believes events like this one are vitally important to the charity.

“There was a lot of people here which was lovely,” she said.

“It seemed to go very well and people enjoyed it which is great.

“Events like this are very important for the charity, because all of the little things we can do help.

“It all goes towards such important research.”

All of the money raised from the event through stallholders paying for a spot and customers paying for entry, goes to the charity.

Annie continued: “We have people coming along, paying for stalls and selling their items.

“We charge people to come in and all the money goes to the charity.

“A big thank you to everyone who has turned up, both stallholders and customers.

“Also I’d like to say a big thanks to the Lion Quays who provided tea, coffee, mince pies and the venue for free.”
