TREES have been planted by Basildon Council after funding by Virgin Media.
The Manchurian Cherry trees, which were funded by Virgin Media in Wickford, were planted by Basildon Council’s arboricultural and grounds maintenance team on Thursday morning. A third tree will be planted at a later date.
David Harrison, councillor for Wickford Park, said: “These trees have been funded by Virgin Media as part of their work to give back to the community. They have also volunteered to paint the gates at Wick Country Park in the spring which is also much appreciated.
“It’s good to see nearby businesses taking an interest in the community.”
Virgin Media Community Liaison Officer Rob Meekings added: “After building in The Wick for the last 10 months, this was a great opportunity for us to give something back to the community.”
