A DISPERSAL order will be in place in Basildon tomorrow.

The dispersal order, which has been issued to help tackle anti-social behaviour in the town centre, will be in place from 9am-6pm.

A spokesman from Essex Police, said: "We will have a dispersal in place in Basildon tomorrow, Friday 8 November, to help tackle anti-social behaviour within the town centre.

"The dispersal order will be in place between 9am and 6pm.

"We have informed shops and partners of the order, which gives our officers the powers to move groups of people away from the area, and we will have officers patrolling this area on foot.

"It is a criminal offence to breach a direction given under a dispersal order and in the worst cases this can result in a criminal conviction punishable by up to six months imprisonment or a fine of up to £5,000.
