A 13-YEAR-OLD girl is in hospital after being hit by a car on a pedestrian crossing this morning.
Isabelle Lewis, who was on her way to King Edmund School, was struck by the car in Ashingdon Road, Rochford.
She is currently being treated in Southend Hospital.
Michelle Harvey, told the Echo about the horror moment this morning, as she saw her daughter lying in the road.
The 39-year-old said: "I keep going over and over it in my head.
"Running round the corner and seeing her lying there calling for help.
"She hasn't got any broken bones luckily.
"She didn't walk out irresponsibly. She was thanking the driver for stopping but he just carried on going.
"Luckily he was only going 15mph or so. She was lucky it wasn't any faster."
A spokesman for the ambulance service, said: "We were called at 7.15am with reports of a collision in Ashingdon Road, Rochford.
"We sent one ambulance and took a child to Southend University Hospital for further care."
Essex Police were contacted for a statement.
