A GROUP of cyclists rode hundreds of miles to raise thousands of pounds for a hospice charity.
The team of 17 cyclists raised £28,000 for Havens Hospices with the 207-mile ride from Thundersley to Bruges in Belgium.
The fundraising team included Lakeside Shopping Centre’s management team Carly North, Sarah Rivett and Nicola Pickford who were joined by Daniel Hardcliff and Simon Lawrence from funeral directors Stibbards and Sons.
Ms Rivett said: “None of us have ever cycled this far, so it was physically tough at times, but the experience was fantastic and we all cheered one another on, had a laugh and it was great to complete it as a team.
“From all of us I would like to thank everyone who has sponsored us, we’re on target to raising £5,000 which is amazing.”
