HARRY Wheeler’s future as the manager of Billericay Town is shrouded in doubt.

Wheeler was not at Marsh Lane as Town recorded a 2-2 draw at Oxford City on Saturday.

And speculation that Wheeler’s second spell in charge of the National League South side has come to an end continues to grow.

Some supporters have taken to social media to question whether Wheeler is still at the helm, while there are also rumours that the ex-Maidstone United chief has been placed on gardening leave.

Jamie O’Hara, Wheeler’s player-assistant manager, was in charge as Billericay threw away a two-goal lead against Oxford.

Although Jake Robinson put Town in the driving seat with a quickfire brace, goals from Zac McEachran and Jack Self ensured Billericay would not return to winning ways.

As a result, the visitors were made to settle for a share of the spoils.

Billericay have yet to officially confirm whether Wheeler has left the club, while owner Glenn Tamplin was unavailable for comment when contacted by Echosport.
