BOURNEMOUTH is one of the cleanest towns in the UK, it has been revealed.
The town came sixth in a list of the top 10 cleanest cities and towns in the UK according to the Clean Britain Report compiled by Holiday Cottages.
The report ranks the UK’s cities and towns in terms of the quality of air and water, as well as recycling and frequency of social media updates relating to sustainability.
Narberth in Pembrokeshire was crowned the UK’s cleanest town, followed by Penicuik in Midlothian, and Didcot in Oxfordshire.
Bournemouth was the only place in Dorset to feature in the list.
Stoke-on-Trent has been named the UK’s dirtiest place, followed by Sunderland, Eastbourne, Nottingham and Leicester.
Jo Price, PR manager at holidaycottages.co.uk said: “We have a long way to go to improve the UK’s environment, but it would appear the wheels are finally turning in the right direction all across the country.
