A tribute has been created following the tragic murder of 15-year-old Michael Irving.

The 15-year-old from Woolwich was stabbed to death on September 3 in Stratford.

Despite the efforts of medics, Michael was pronounced dead at the scene at 7.48pm.

Jessica Mckey, a friend of Michael's, told News Shopper: "He had such a big impact on everyone who crossed paths with him, he was a great friend to have and he was surely loved by everyone.

"Michael's death has broken family’s and friends hearts, to think Michael was only 15 with his whole life ahead of him makes us all sick to the gut."

Last night Jessica and three others arranged a memorial which took place in Woolwich Arsenal.

They let of balloons and lit candles and it was said to be the 'perfect send off'.

Jessica continued: "I want this to be seen by the young youths who care knifes around everyday and think it’s acceptable, knife crime changes people’s everyday life’s and causes pain.

"I want to help put knife crime at rest, nobody should feel the need to carry knifes or even think about safety when carrying such a life threatening object."

A 16-year-old male was arrested on suspicion of murder on September 3. On September 5 he was charged with the murder.
