A RACIST barman was sacked after abusing and assaulting women.

Jorge Nottage admitted beating two women and racially abusing a third, crimes which cost him his jobs at a restaurant and casino.

The 22-year-old appeared at Basildon Magistrates’ Court on Friday after going on the rampage in Southend in June.

Nottage, of Coleman Street, Southend admitted one count of assault occasioning actual bodily harm, assault by beating, racially aggravated abuse and using threatening words.

He sat with his head bowed, speaking only to confirm his guilty pleas.

Simon Samuels, mitigating, told the court Nottage was doing “everything he can” to abide by court instructions to avoid jail.

He said: “At the time of the offences, he was holding down two jobs, doing bar work at a restaurant and a casino.

“He has now lost both of those jobs and has no form of income

“Many people would have given up under the circumstances. He is clearly trying to do his best but he is struggling.

“Yesterday, he thought he was due at Southend court. He only learned that he was due in Basildon today, and despite being on no income, he has made it here.

“If you choose to adjourn, this will be the last time.”

Chairman of then bench Paul Fisher told Nottage: “It would be very easy to send you to prison today. You have a lot of offences that need to be dealt with. However, we are going to give you one last chance. You must cooperate with probation.

“If you do come back here without doing that, you’ll be put in prison for Christmas. That’s an almost certainty.” He will be sentenced later this year after reports are prepared.
