A man involved in a crash that caused a young boy to suffer serious injuries will face no further action, Essex Police has announced.

The four-year-old boy, who was injured on Rectory Road at 7.30pm on July 6, remained in hospital for several days after the crash and is expected to make a full recovery.

A spokesman for Essex Police said: "We spoke to the driver involved in the crash, a man in his 60s, who cooperated fully with our investigation.

"It has been determined that he will face no further action.

"We would like to thank the witnesses who came forward and the members of the public who offered their support to the family of the boy during this difficult time."
