NEW images show a van was set alight during the Tillingham field fire.
The fire in Grange Road saw a field the size of almost four football pitches completely destroyed at around 7.50pm on August 5.
Crews from Tillingham, Burnham and Maldon were called out to the incident, which images now show a blue Ford Transit was involved in the incident.
A spokesman for Maldon Fire Station, said: "Upon arrival we found a van fire which has spread to the field in which it was parked.
"A team wearing breathing apparatus using hose reels tackled the van fire, whilst the remaining crews tackled the field to prevent it spreading even further."
This comes after initial reports the three crews had managed to tame the six acre blaze.
