Calling all budding writers, Oak Tree Animals’ Charity has the competition for you.

As part of the 110th birthday celebrations, the charity is offering a seven-night stay in a holiday cottage in the Borrowdale Valley.

All you have to do is write a story - fiction or non-fiction - that emphasises the love between a human and an animal.

It doesn’t have to be a pet, it could be a story about a ferocious wild animal too.

Children could write about an exciting adventure shared with an animal.

Or, pet owners could chronicle the journey of their pets life.

Just put together a story of 500 words, with illustrations if you have an artistic hand, and send it to Oak Tree Animals’ Charity.

Either post it to the Wetheral base or email it to fundraising@oaktreeanimals.org.uk by October 1.
