A MAJOR road was closed for several hours after a three-car crash in the middle of the night.
Witnesses reported police, fire and ambulance crews on scene of the A13 between the Five Bells interchange and Pitsea Flyover shortly after 11pm on Saturday night.
Fortunately, no one was seriously injured in the crash and the road was reopened once the vehicles had been recovered.
A spokesman for Essex Police said: “We were called to reports of a collision on the A13 at 11pm on Saturday, July 6.
“A Ford Focus, Ford Galaxy and a VW Golf are believed to have been involved in the incident.
“The driver and passenger of the Ford Galaxy, a man aged in his 60s and a woman aged in her 50s, suffered minor injuries, as did the two men in their 20s travelling in the VW Golf.
“No arrests have been made.
“The road was closed between junctions seven and nine for several hours but has now re-opened.”
