WESTCLIFF’S promotion credentials are set to be put to the test this weekend.

Peter Barnes’ side, who are currently in second spot in the Division Three standings, make the trip to third-placed Harlow tomorrow.

And, with just eight points separating the two sides ahead of the meeting, Barnes is eager to come out on top.

The Westcliff skipper said: “We are looking forward to tomorrow’s game against Harlow.

“It was nice to get another win last weekend but Harlow are very close behind us in third and, having not played them for a few years, we are expecting a tough game.

“We were missing a couple of players last week, but they are back now and if we all play to the best of our ability we are confident we can get a win.”

Westcliff head to Harlow having returned to winning ways against Stanford-le-Hope last time out.

Harlow also recovered from a defeat by beating West Essex by eight wickets.

Meanwhile, Leigh will be looking to remain at the top of the Division Three standings.

And, with the second and third-placed teams playing each other, it is an opportunity for Leigh to pull clear at the summit.

Leigh are currently eight points clear of Westcliff and will make the journey to Goresbrook tomorrow.

Having won all of their last three outings, Leigh will be the favourites to emerge victorious.

Goresbrook, who are sixth in the standings, have been condemned to two losses on the bounce.

Elsewhere, Stanford are will be looking to end their poor run of form when Ardleigh Green & Havering-Atte-Bower visit tomorrow.

Stanford have been beaten in each of their last five encounters.
