A INQUEST has opened after human bones were discovered washed up on Canvey.
The bones were found in the mud at the Canvey Island Yaht Club near The Point on May 25.
Essex Police attended the scene and are making further inquiries.
The inquest into the discovery opened at Essex Coroner's Court in Chelmsford on Wednesday morning.
A post mortem examination has been carried out and further test results are due in the near future.
Police have stated there is no evidence of third party involvement in the person’s death at this stage.
The person's identity remains unknown.
The full inquest will take place on November 6.
