AN ARMED man threatened a resident at a home after an argument broke out with a gang of people.
Police were called at around 10.15pm on June 6, with reports that the man was being threatened while inside his home in Southchurch Road, Southend.
Reports on social media suggested he had been slashed with a knife.
However a spokesman for Essex Police said: “The man reported he was threatened by a man armed with a weapon following an argument with a group of people.
“He was not injured but reported his door was damaged.
“We attended the scene and arrested a 28-year-old man on suspicion of common assault and criminal damage. He remains in custody for questioning.”
