BREXIT, Brexit, Brexit. Go, go, go away come back another day. It goes on and on - and on. Although, some will argue it’s just threatening to get interesting again.

Especially now the big, bold, no nonsense Brexit boys have steamed in leaving Conservatives and Labour with more than just a bloody nose.

In Thurrock the party, which didn’t even publish a manifesto, took more than three times the number of votes received by the Labour Party in second place.

And what about this.

The Tories getting trumped here by, wait for it, the Lib Dems, who would have dreamt it!

So, the big four breakdown went... Brexit Party: 17,573 votes Labour Party: 5,080 Lib Dems: 2,909 Conservative Party: 2,623. Ouch.

Notably, and in contrast to the local elections earlier this month, when as little as 17 per cent of people were turning out to vote in wards, a significant 30.4 per cent of residents had their say on this.

Remember, almost three in every four Thurrock voters wanted out of the EU in the big vote. Seems little has changed.

And they want it sorted out by the latest “leaving” deadline of Hallowe’en.

So, a few things are certainly now clear.

People are fed-up and very angry at the Conservatives and Labour parties and there is as much division, over the issue of leaving the EU, as there ever was up and down the country, but maybe not here.

Good luck to whoever is our next PM...
