A man caught behind the wheel while more than double the drink drive limit has been banned from driving.
George Croxford, 32, admitted to driving while under the influence of alcohol when he appeared at Chelmsford Magistrates Court on May 8.
Croxford, of Church Street, Braintree, had been caught by police driving along the A131 with 176 milligrams of alcohol in 100 millilitres of his blood on February 10.
The legal limit is 80 milligrams.
Magistrates handed Croxford a 20-month driving ban which could be reduced by 20 weeks if he completes a driving course.
He was also handed a £760 fine and ordered to pay a further £161 in costs.
