A TEENAGER was air lifted to a London hospital for serious leg injuries after he was hit by a car on Hamlet Court Road, in Westcliff.
The teen was hit by a red Fiat 500 moments after leaving the Co-Op store.

A spokesman for east of England ambulance, said: “Two ambulances and the Essex and Herts air ambulance attended a road accident in Hamlet Court Road in Westcliff around 6pm, Tuesday, April 23.
"We treated a young man for serious leg injuries at the scene and he was taken by air ambulance to the Royal London Hospital for further treatment.”
The road was closed from the junction of London Road following the crash, and a police cordon was in place.
Pictures show the windscreen of the red Fiat 500 badly cracked, along with clothing in the street within the cordon.
Two police cars and officers were still present at the scene around 8pm, as well as a police car blocking the entrance into Hamlet Court Road.
A spokesman from Essex Police, said: “Officers attended a collision between a red Fiat 500 and a teenage pedestrian on Hamlet Court Road, Westcliff, at 6pm on April 23.
“The teenager was taken to hospital with injuries to his leg and head that are not believed to be life-threatening.
“No arrests have been made.
“We received reports of a theft from the Co-op in Hamlet Court Road shortly before the collision.
“Enquiries are ongoing.”
